I already have the 24" version of this CamLok bungee and am writing a review on it so take a look. This is probably the most secure way to hold a load in almost any situation. The cam lock works like a charm, once it engages nothing can disengage it unless you want to and twist the end to disengage. After some use, I realized that it should say "adjustable tension" and not "adjustable length". You simply hook both ends, no matter how long, then simply pull the free end through the cam to desired tension, that's it. That. Nothing could be easier. Some people in the review say it's not long enough, you don't need longer length. Use 50 feet of rope and finish off with this bungee to keep tension. You'll still be assured it won't come loose on the freeway, and that's how I use it. The bungee itself is of much better quality. than a normal bungee. The part that rubs against the cam, usually always the same part in my case, showed no stress for almost a year after almost daily use. I'm even thinking of shortening it and saving the unused bungee for future use. There are still places where a regular bungee will do better, so don't throw away your old bungee just yet. But just carrying one for emergencies should save you a lot of different situations.
