Bought these about a month ago. I haven't checked out the e-book on cocktails, so I can't comment on that. However, I have now used both the spoon and the pestle many times and am more than satisfied with both. The spoon is quite small and I will most likely never use it to add anything to drinks. Pros: Everything else. $8.50 for both (for now). The spoon and muddler lengths (both 10 inches as listed) make each one perfect for whatever glass I have. They are both sturdy and easily maneuver through a lot of ice etc in a jar. The spoon's fork helps to remove fruit peels and the like from inside the glass. The texture at the end of the pestle makes it quick and easy to tangle, and the nylon material is strong enough to tangle but soft enough not to damage the glass or make bloody noises.
