Review on SmartSmith Sliding Adjustable Bearings Upgraded by Jared Winebrenner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great quality but poor performance.

The only criticism is that to adjust the rollers you have to loosen the screw, slide the rollers to the desired width and tighten the screw. The tighter the screw, the less the wheel will move with bearings. I had to tighten it *almost* fully, but loosen it a bit to keep the wheel turning. After two days of installation and use, the wheel slipped off the desired width (because I couldn't tighten it all the way down) and now the gate has too much play. I was hoping that these would be separate functions internally (bolt tightening and bearings for the movement) but they aren't. That way you get one or the other.

Pros
  • ►WE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE! Heavy Duty Roller Bottom Track features black powder coated construction: our premium black powder component for proper sliding door installation. However, if you buy a cheap door guide, you'll wake up either your dog or someone every time you open the door. So if you really need a working gate track that is well made, ball bearing wheels run smoothly and are quiet, the SmartSmith barn door track is the solution you have been looking for!
Cons
  • Big and chunky
