The operators manual was definitely NOT written by a native English speaker. This made the instructions confusing for an item SO easy to operate ๐. Plug it in, wait for the red light (LED) to flash, place the open bag in the opening, press the lid until it latches on both sides, press the vac/seal button, let it do it's thing, and press the release button. Done ! As long as you keep everything clean the bag is sealed and ready for the freezer or sous vide. The box is a tidy place to store this vacuum sealer. It will keep the lid unlatched while not in use. The manufacturer suggested that since the foam ring, which holds the bags in place while sealing, would become compressed by clamping it shut and no longer able seal properly. Since it appears to be well made and sturdy and should last a while. So, Yes, I am recommending this item.
