Review on 🚲 Hollywood Racks Sportrider SE2 HR-1450Z: Top-Rated 2" Hitch Rack for 2 Bikes by Dennis Long

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you're stuck between this and a Swagman XC rack - BUY IT!

This stand is very well designed and durable. I was torn between buying this or the cheaper and well maintained Swagman XC. I've used the Swagman XC in the past so I knew what it was like. If you have a car with a 2" receiver, I highly recommend you buy this rack. Pros: - Rugged construction - Quality construction - 2" tube construction, no adapter required for a 2" receiver. - No tools required for installation. Screw it to the hitch (most bike hitches require a wrench to tighten the screw to keep it from rattling). - Includes hitch lock and cable with matching keys ($30 for itself). - Thick metal around it, nothing covered with foil. - It can be rotated while the bikes are still on it for easier access to the trunk or truck bed. Swagman can't do that. - You can use a normal pin to fix, no threaded bolt is required. Locking pin as mentioned Cons: - A bit heavy (due to its sturdy construction) It's not HEAVY, just heavier than the Swagman XC Swagman XC - Uses cables to attach bikes to the rack, I would have preferred cable retention clips instead. This rack is designed for harsh environments. It does not bend or bend easily. The metal on the Swagman XC rack is very thin and if you overtighten the bolts it will bend and bend. This stand also has its own built in anti-rattle device which requires no tools compared to the Swagman stand. This requires a wrench to tighten the anti-rattle screw in the coupler pocket. The metal brackets (which the tires rest on) on this rack are MUCH STRONGER than the Swagman XC trunk brackets. I have no hesitation in putting my $3,000 bike on this rack. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than the Swagman XC ($100 more as of September 22, 2013), but it's a much better value overall. I do not regret buying this shelf.
