My old rocker cover gasket burned out on my 2001 Toyota RAV-4 with 358,000 miles. It had a weird random leak behavior. Sometimes it was perfectly sealed for thousands of miles and other times it leaked all my oil for hundreds of miles. I took the valve cover off and the old gasket fell apart like feta cheese. Not only did this Fel-Pro pad fit perfectly, it was a delightful blue instead of practical black. It's a soft, stretchy rubber that feels like sealing shouldn't be a problem. Like a hot fart, I'm betting on building the engine with no RTV. So far it seems to have held up well.
