Review on TYC 800177P Compatible Replacement Cabin Air Filter for Nissan Altima by Terrance Fisher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looks like a good quality unit

I just installed this new unit on my 2014 Altima. I agree the procedure is quite clumsy, VERY uncomfortable in fact for a man with short arms and a wide body. The old one came out easily and doesn't seem to have been changed since 2014. He was dirty. It came out easily but I had to use the hook puller from the kit I had because I couldn't get anything like a pull tab to pull the old one out. The new one doesn't have a tab either. But getting a new, albeit straightforward, process was very difficult due to the cumbersome nature of the process. Not only is it inconvenient, but watching the process of putting a new one in is almost impossible. It's worth the effort in itself to have and deliver much cleaner air. By the way, I have a carbon filter. Simply that way. I'm only giving the filter two stars because it's not easy to install, although this is Nissan's fault it only gets two stars for ease of installation. The quality of the instructions is mediocre, hence the three stars. And I gave three stars for the kilometer rating. If he filters the same amount of manure from the cabin air for the next five years, he will be extremely satisfactory for that time. My wife will be investing about 12,000 a year instead of the 4,000 the first owner made a year so we'll see what happens over the next 12 months.
