I am writing this so that users of Ubuntu 18.04 Gnome and Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon Desktop can use this webcam. works with these two distros. It works fine with two of my old (about 10 year old) Ubuntu HP towers and a newer (2 year old) Acer tower running Linux Mint. The video is a bit choppy on older machines, but fine on newer ones. Note: All my machines have updated Nvidia PCIe graphics cards. I don't use the built in video controller. I use the downloadable Webcamoid app. I hope this helps alleviate some of the fears I know when buying hardware for Linux machines.
