When I first got the Nitro 5 I really liked it. It could hit 120 fps and was decent for most of my games. I love it. But when I had to upgrade, I honestly didn't want to spend too much as a student. I did a lot of research and yes the top brands ACER, ASUS, HP, ALIEN obviously had great laptops. But to find him was sent by God. I can run most of my games at 240 fps. Upgrading to 16GB of RAM and adding my HYBRID drive was flawlessly easy. The design is very elegant, fresh, effortlessly stylish and simple. In fact, as a gaming laptop, it remains well hidden. Compared to the 7 pounds most gaming PCs start at, it's lightweight and easy to transport to travel as a student. The cons I had with it was that it was a bit smaller than the average 15.6β laptop. A little. It's a straight 15.6 when measured, but still a few inches smaller than regular laptops. Another problem is that the fans are on the bottom and there is no airflow to the back of the laptop. So I would suggest investing in a heavy gaming cooling pad to protect your laptop. Also, it only has two USB ports. Not a big deal as I can easily add more ports with an external USB device, but that was a disappointment. That being said, any cons I would say pale in comparison to the pros. In summary, this is a beast of a laptop. It's rare to find an affordable laptop that's easy to upgrade, has amazing frame rates, and runs smoothly while still being easily portable. The cons are things that can easily be overlooked due to the tremendous benefits this offers. If you are looking for a budget gaming laptop for learning then this is definitely your buy.
