It is suitable for charging if you only have one device like iPhone, Airpods, Apple Watch or other activated smartphones. If you want to charge both, look elsewhere, but this wireless charger is perfect for my husband to charge his work phone without having to plug and unplug an otter with a cover. Love the fact that there is an LED indicator to let you know if it's charging or not without disturbing your eyes when you're sleeping. Speaking of the Otterbox, we're both impressed that it charges, despite the case being a bit thicker. It's fairly stable and durable enough to hold a charge, it can be used as a viewing stand as well as for personal use and is great for small spaces. Sometimes the cable can stick out a bit, so be sure to push it through to avoid this. Also great for travel and gifts. The only thing I don't like is when I take out the pillow to lay it flat just to charge it, although I understand why if you're not using it as a stand but it's quite a hassle. Also, I've tried charging my Apple Watch but it won't charge after testing it in several different positions, so I'm hoping this will work if you have AirPods.
