We ordered this ice maker especially for our annual big hike. We have just returned from a trip and the car worked very well. The room is very big but we had the perfect location for it. The unit is noisy and generates some heat, but since the RV's air conditioning is on all day (nearly 100 degrees in Texas heat), I didn't notice any noise or heat. Before buying this one we bought a smaller block and ended up taking it back, it just didn't make enough ice cream. This unit didn't produce enough ice to meet all of our camping needs, but it was nice to always have clean ice for our drinks and ice for our little coolers when we went boating or fishing from shore. The device made ice about every 10 minutes and as long as we kept water in it it continued to work. We turned it off when we slept because of the sound of ice falling into the tray. Many times we would throw full ice trays into a large refrigerator because the freezer was already full of ice. I am very happy with this ice cream maker and would recommend it to my friends.
