It's a bear that fits in there, by GM Design
It has 5 small screws, 2 of which are difficult to work with, but when you remove the 3 mounting screws for the ECU, it slips off far enough to to help. Also, it's easy to loosen the ECU screw a bit, basically the one closest to the fan, so it can be replaced. Twist it to find the thinnest area of the flange to put it in, then just twist it into place and screw it on!
