Don't expect a heavy load

I've read mixed reviews about how much weight to put on this type of hand, but I've tempered my expectations, knowing that at certain angles there can be a few grams difference make out it moves. I was right. I'd say 1 pound is a reasonable amount of weight to place this thing at most angles, but if you stretch it all the way and the weight is off the center of gravity it won't hold either. The weak point is actually near the bottom of the clamp, where the locking knob screws just press against the side of the small rod that you insert into the clamp. It was very easy to move despite being fully tightened. Also, it's pretty easy to make adjustments. I don't dare mount a small camera like the Fuji X100V on it, but now I use it to mount my RODE VideoMic Pro+ as a pole to get sound above me and from the camera when I'm recording videos on my desk . .
