love this stuff: my feedback

I never even knew this stuff existed. I always heard about rug pads and thought "no thanks" but then we moved into a house with a slate floor entryway that needed a rug but the rug kept slipping around. It was driving me nuts, so I thought "ugh, I guess I'll have to break down and buy a rug pad" but then amazon led me to this stuff. It's fantastic! We have used it on heavier pile carpet, concrete, slate, and low pile carpet with excellent results. Rugs I didn't even need to tape down are now taped and it makes me so happy. Any rolling carpet edges immediately stick down and stay down. And that rug in the entryway hasn't budged since day one, despite the dog jumping all over it, it being in a very heavy traffic area and Rumba running over it daily. I even went back and bought myself another roll. A few tips: place the tape as close to the edges as you can, pull a piece of the tape, leaving the backing on, place it at the very corner of one edge and then run it along that whole edge, leaving the backing on so you have something to press down on to really stick it to the carpet. Then, once you have reached the other corner, rip or cut the tape. Then go back and really press down on the tape and backing. Then, go back to a corner, peel off the entire backing and stick it down!

Pros
  • Works for mounting novelties and promotional items, sign positioning, splicing, and any application that requires the joining of two surfaces
Cons
  • The tape may be expensive compared to other carpet installation methods
