Review on Enhance your Viewing Experience with the ViewSonic VG2230WM 22 Inch Widescreen Monitor – Crisp 1680X1050P Resolution, Wide LCD Screen by Ryan Gould

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It works well within the expected range

I currently have 2 ViewSonic VA2226w. One is around 14 months old and the other around 17 months old. They are both connected to the G5 Mac. One connects to the DVI port and the other to the VGA port. They work well as advertised and are very good for the price. The controls are sufficient and easily accessible. I don't use monitor speakers, but I've tested them and found them weak. However, I firmly believe that monitors do not need speakers. I'd be happier with the design if there wasn't a floor housing the speakers. The base is good and strong, unfortunately the bulge in the front is not very pleasing to the eye. Pitch and roll works well. The height adjustment works very well and is very easy with just a little touch. The viewing angles are fine for me as these TWO are on either side of the 28 inch monitor, acting as the second and third and angled to do so. Brightness and color are ok. With the calibration software, both appear on the same gray background. . The Viewsonic logo is in fine matte chrome and creates reflective interference that I eliminated by rubbing it with acetone in 3 passes to reduce its shine (acetone fumes are dangerous to breathe, so use in a ventilated area, preferably outdoors). The included cable is a reasonable length at around 5.5 inches and allowed me to easily connect the rightmost monitor to the system without stretching or stretching it. He sleeps and comes back normal. After that it takes about 5 minutes until you are really awake. I am happy with this monitor and would buy it again and again to use as a second monitor.
