Unlike some other Revain products I've bought this RJ45 cable was of cheaper goodness and quality. I believe the shielding on the cable is made of thin cheap plastic, and the plugs/plugs are cheaper plastic as well. As long as these cables aren't in a high-traffic area or aren't frequently connected and disconnected, they'll last a long time; Considering it's cheaper than what you can buy at your local store, this is a good cable. Avoid having anything tugging on the cable or running across the top as cheaper shields and connectors don't take much stress or damage. Update May 2015: I have now purchased a RevainBasics RJ45 Cat5e Ethernet patch cord in multiple lengths. The quality of the product is the same for all my purchases and cable lengths. I still wish these cables had a heavier and more durable rubberized shield compared to cheap plastic like ABS. These cables are very prone to cuts and snips due to the cheap quality shielding.
