I can breathe again

Here are a few facts you need to know before I can give my opinion on this air purifier: 1. I live in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area2. A supermassive plume of smoke blankets this region with toxic air.3. I have asthma. An air gauge showed that the Portland area air quality index peaked at 635 late Sunday night (for reference only, anything over 200 is unhealthy). But I got this little air purifier on a Sunday afternoon (thanks a lot USPS, I hope you have N95 masks for postmen). My husband put it together, and while it still hurt to breathe, within an hour I was well enough to cook dinner (with a little help, my asthma is so terrible now, thanks to whoever invented Albuterol). We misplaced the air purifier. into our bedroom as we went to bed and we both had our first peaceful night in days. I just found out today that the rain and wind that would drive the "supermassive" smoke east wouldn't happen until Thursday or Friday. and so we have four more days of sore throats, watery eyes, itchy faces and tight chests. But this little cleaner really helps and I didn't have high hopes for it. It's small and our apartment isn't big, but it's more than a tiny room like the reception for this listed unit. Some other thoughts; It's pretty quiet, much quieter than the fan on my desk or the fan in my bathroom. The light at the top is a pretty blue lightsaber, Obi-Wan Kenobi I believe, and it's not so bright that I have to turn it off to sleep. To be honest I loved putting it on, I was worried because I thought the air purifier was off (it's so quiet) and that I might fall asleep and slowly choke on the toxic smoke in the air, so that was it Light up quite soothing as I fell asleep exhausted and restless. Setup - pretty quick, maybe three minutes? Cost of replacement filters? Now that we're having a Super Smoke event I don't want to wait the recommended three months to change the filters, which is why I've already bought a replacement. The cost is $15, so about $5 a month for clean air, not bad right?
