I was looking for a cheap replacement for a 20 year old hydrometer that I recently broke (although the paper "scale" inside it sometimes moved and I had to put it back on. ). It turned out that despite the price, this is actually a better hydrometer than I had. It's also interesting to note that people have complained that it's a black and white scale, although that's what the listing showed when I bought it and I would have agreed, it actually is a color coded scale that I received. . For the price it works, it's everything I needed.
