These remotes are sleek and we've lost a couple to fall damage. We usually buy a brand new Roku as it's not that much more expensive than buying the remote separately, especially when they're on sale. This time I decided to be smart and buy a protective case. It definitely protects the remote control and the case is well made. The downside is that the case hides the volume buttons on the side and the mute button is right where you put your fingers to hold the remote, so we always manage to mute the remote while working. In the end I got fed up and I took a pair of scissors and cut the cover off the buttons. It's a bad design but the overall concept is good, but it would be much better if they just fixed the shell that covers the volume buttons.
