Bought these for my husband's office with the intention of placing one inside and two outside a hollow door that he could light from his desk during business hours. Red would mean do not enter (session-wide conference calls), yellow would mean please knock, and green would mean ok to enter. The intention was that the light in the office would be reflected in the same way as the light in front of the door when illuminated with the remote control. Unfortunately, the transmission doesn't even work through Hollow Core doors, so he has to open the door to change the color. Still a great product and he will use them during working hours but it's a bit of a shame he has to open the door to get the lights on properly.
