The quality is better than I expected. It's quite thick and strong, the base is strong but flexible so you can take the shape you want when you need it. Unfortunately I didn't understand how the body of my Sun Dolphin Bali SS was shaped (probably not the same as the Journey although it claims to be) so due to the shape and all that I ordered another one and waited for the second one. before i install. My kayak is pretty terrible when it comes to tracking so I'm hoping that once they're installed the issue will be fixed. I've heard bad things about using goop to install them but figured since I'll be installing on a flat surface I'll give it a try. Ordered deep-sea rivets just in case! Will be updated after installation. UPDATE: I only used the Goop to attach two of these, I left it on for a few days before taking it out on the water. I picked it up two days ago and it has made a HUGE difference. Much easier to paddle and enjoy the kayak. Now it tracks perfectly straight without worrying about readjusting or stepping to the side when I stop rowing. Made the ride super smooth compared to when I didn't have it. However, you have to keep in mind that the downside is that your kayak will be less manoeuvrable. It used to spin very easily, I was able to spin it from side to side with a little more control. Now it's not so easy to turn back. I found I had to paddle back if I wanted to tack faster or correct my course. Two (one on each side) also add stability. I have terrible balance that I learned kayaking so using both helps a bit. The only downside to this is that the screws in things are a little painful, I would have preferred a snap button or something easier on and off.
