The instructions on the box were poorly written. I had imagined the suction cups to be a little larger. I have to be careful not to bump into the product as it slides off a bit. Assembly was easy once I figured out what goes where. I couldn't figure out how to attach the extra suction cups to the bottom of the product the way I need them so I just use two like the picture on the box. On the other hand, it was much easier to put together and use right out of the box than the tank divider I bought at the store. No measurements are required for whatever size tank you have. The only thing you have to do is remove the hood to install it and I recommend placing it in the center or near the center of the front for easy access and tracking of the fish. It's worth your money!
