Flew JetBlue back and forth from NOLA to NE to pick up my pup, brought him home on a cart under the seat in front of me. He weighed 11 pounds. and was a bit long, so just about right for when you curl up while sleeping. While in the terminal, I opened the sides and let it stretch out. An ideal solution that I carefully studied to ensure it would be accepted on the plane. Also bought 2 extra pee pads not knowing if I needed them - they were never used and thankfully the pup never messed with the carrier as it made us both more comfortable! I have not seen my boy in person, only from photos and a description from the foster mom and it has taken a little longer than I expected. Luckily he was small when he curled up in his sleep, which he stayed the whole flight. It was a blessing as we trimmed it really tight. I have attached various photos so you can see the size when stretched, folded and worn. Here are the best tips I've received from others that got my money's worth: 1. When your pet is in a carrier, it's a lot harder than you think, especially at the airport. The way from the car to the seat on the plane can be long and the hands are not completely free even when using the shoulder strap. You still need to stabilize yourself with your arms while walking. If you have carry-on luggage, problem solved, slide the stretcher onto the handle of your "wheeled" suitcase. If you don't have a suitcase, take a trolley; something on wheels that can collapse. You only get two carry-on bags, so choose wisely. I put the pup under my seat, brought a backpack, and stuffed the trolley into the top. 2. Choose a middle seat as there is more space under the front seat. (Wrong about JetBlue - luckily I had an aisle seat).3. Choose a pet carrier with multiple holes to ensure one fits your purpose, depending on the size of your pet. It's good that they can get in from the side but stick their heads out from the top.4. Leave the pet carrier a little under the seat if you can get away with it - the flight attendant had no problem - so the pet doesn't choke under the seat. If the pet is small, you probably won't have much problem with it.5. Make sure the stretcher can fall off a bit but still has some strength when you're not on the plane - you don't want the blanket falling on your pet! Highly recommended - excellent quality and good information with pictures and sizes to help me make my choice.
