I'm a doctor. I bought the Emay Portable Portable Monitor after reading various customer reviews and it is a really cool device. It's small and easily fits in my purse. The software is supplied on a flash drive and a USB cable for downloading to a Windows PC. The device produces good quality recordings, especially in lead I (held between the left and right palm). The default recording is set to 10 seconds, which is too short for arrhythmia monitoring. I changed the recording time to 30 seconds (this is the maximum) via the software on the PC. He was able to detect missed beats and indicate whether the heart rate was too fast (tachycardia) or too slow (bradycardia). A user with medical experience can view the waveform on the screen and interpret arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) in no time. The device evaluates the data and displays deviations on the device itself. According to the user manual, it can detect a variety of cardiac arrhythmias including dropouts, ST elevation, PVC bigeminy, bradycardia, ST segment depression, PVC pair, tachycardia, random PVC, PVC series of 3, arrhythmia, PVC trigeminy, PVC Series four". The FAQ of the user manual states that the device flags the recording of atrial fibrillation (a common and dangerous rhythm) as an arrhythmia. The user can download and print the data to share with their healthcare provider. For me The primary use of this device is to indicate when I need to go to the ER immediately - when PVC bigeminy, PVC pair, PVC series of 3, arrhythmia, PVC trigeminy, series of 4 are registered.I really liked this device so much that I will order another one.
