I have a Vizio E65-F1 4K TV above my fireplace and I have 2 50ft HDMI cables pre-run and some Cat5e Cable. move into my house. My components are in a cable in the back of my living room. Never had a problem until I got 4K Directv and the 4K Vizio TV 1080P signal worked great over a 50ft cable. So before I get this item I buy an HDMI repeater, one is behind the TV and the second one I got later is on the source. Note that the installation is 6 years old. I also use a 4K switch since all my components are in one closet. The reason I bought this item was that I had an intermittent problem where my TV would just turn on by itself. So I figured it would be the HDMI switch so I could get around fine for a few days or weeks. Then I notice that the TV is off again. So I wanted to try HDMI over Ethernet. I tried without the 4K switch, got a brief picture, but as soon as I switched channels only the sound disappeared. Thought maybe there was something wrong with the cable I ran through the wall. I, when I got my cat5e box in the garage, ran a cold drip and encountered the same problem. So this didn't work for me. I call tech support twice and each time I call where they are closed. This item cost over $250 and did not work as advertised. So my next option would be to open up the wall and run an HDMI fiber optic cable.
