Comes on every day Inverter

I do home health and drive an older car. I use it every day to charge my laptop and other electronic devices. It makes some kind of noise from time to time - I smack it once and it usually goes away (I'm not mechanical like some of the other reviewers). The only problem is that it uses a cigarette lighter in my car. I need to use another one in my center console to power my GPS unit. The new department looks like they have solved this small problem.
