A Tale of Two Radios: WR-22 vs. RCR-20

It's time to ditch your clock radio. Used over 8 years ago with a non-working CD player, tight, faulty buttons and a volume control that screamed loud noise when set to very low levels. After some deliberation, I ordered the WR-22 (desktop). A day later, this RCR-20 (clock radio) deal was changed to a Prime delivery deal. Confused, ordered. It's more of a clock radio than the WR-22. So without planning, I will deliver both radios within the same 24 hour period. I think I'll listen and play both and then send one back. In love with both. The RCR-20 serves as the perfect clock radio in the bedroom and has battery backup in case of power failures. It's very cool to select music on your phone or tablet to fall asleep via bluetooth. The tabletop radio has even better sound quality and my enjoyment of the sentimental value of the style has made it a great addition to the lower garden level of our home (with home theater and pool table). It reminds me of my parents' solid wood RCA tabletop when I was growing up. That later became a garage radio and accompanied me on many work projects with sound quality. This uses a charge storing capacitor to maintain time/transmitter settings during brief power outages. Bluetooth is probably not the latest generation, but it is lossless. And I love that walnut finish; It's nice to see and even touch! Both radios are operated from an NPR station in a major city about 60 miles away. Other radios couldn't do that. So I keep both. RCR-20 in the bedroom as a radio alarm clock and WR-44 in the converted basement as a table radio + Bluetooth speaker! I assume that I will play billiards more often now.
