I compared what I received with an older version of these same inserts-the packaging was different but I figured it was more "eco friendly” because the Spenco inserts I’ve bought in the past came in plastic packaging and the new inserts arrived in a stiff paper type package. However, the new inserts are significantly less firm than those I’ve bought in the past. They are also floppy by comparison to an old set of Spenco cross trainers inserts that I’ve had in my house shoes for about 5 years after retiring from a year spent in my gym shoes. The old set still have firmer arches and foot padding than these new ones.So, as another reviewer stated, I think either the quality has taken a dive or these may not be legit Spenco. Hard to tell because it’s been 5 years since I bought this style of insert. They do not seem like they’re made to last longer than a few months whereas the old inserts have lasted years with minimal compression of the foam and arch (which are still more firm than the new set’s foam and arch).
