Review on KidCo P4012 PeaPod Infant Midnight by Susan Foley

Untenable. Not sure.

The result is a very nice shelter in which a child can play under supervision. Otherwise, in my opinion, this product is not durable and unsafe to leave a child unattended. I tried it for the first time last weekend while preparing for a trip my wife and I will be taking with our kids later this month. We're traveling to Tasmania so we wanted to be able to take a lightweight backpack and replace the travel cot with our large 4Moms Pack-n-Play backpack. When I opened the package I was optimistic. She got off and kept her form very well. The built-in mattress that attaches to the bottom of the tent and the netting that encircles the bottom of the tent were the big pluses in my book for passenger safety. Here the pluses end. My son loved climbing in, but like any two-year-old, he became very curious very quickly. There are zips on the inside and outside of the tent and as soon as he noticed this he unzipped and climbed out on his own. This is not ideal if you want your little one to stay overnight. As soon as I stopped him from fiddling with zippers, he decided he wanted to get up (but there wasn't enough room for that). When he did that, the whole tent rolled to the side and we couldn't pitch the tent without help. To me, this is a serious flaw in a design that tips over so easily. I figured it wouldn't work for our original purpose, but he might still enjoy playing in our playroom and pretending to camp. I wanted to pack it up but found that it wasn't very durable either. The tent keeps its shape thanks to a single metal strap that twists twice, allowing the tent to be lifted and folded. This strip is usually spot welded and reinforced at the two ends, but on this product it appears to have been made very cheaply. I'm an amateur photographer and many of my flares and softboxes use the same packaging and folding method, so I'm very familiar with how they should be folded. I found this product to be overly bulky and did not fold well. After folding, I noticed that the place where the metal strip connects has fallen apart. As a result, the tent could no longer be erected and kept in shape. I am very disappointed in the quality of this product at this price. I made a return and bought the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light. It's a lot more money than we wanted to spend and it's not exactly that small, but it does its job properly and safely. I hope this review helps you if you are in a similar situation!
