Review on Everest Signature Waist Pack Standard Outdoor Recreation by Brian Garrett

On the small side. on Luggage & Travel Gear

I already had a very similar Everest belt bag that has held up well for a few years of everyday use. However, the zippers wear out and threaten to break. So I ordered this as a replacement. There are several versions of this bag and the description shown here seems to match my existing bag. It says 'one size' so you might think that's all there is. There are three sizes in the attachment. At one point it stands 11.43 inches high and 29.21 inches wide. Another description states that the size is 11.5 x 4.5 x 3 inches. Third place says 11.8 x 3.1 x 4.7 inches. They are all pretty much the same and seem to fit my old bag depending on how you measure. The bag is not rectangular and the width depends on whether you are measuring the usable cargo area or hip belt attachment. When the bag arrived it was smaller than expected. The width between the waist straps was only 10.75 inches, and the zippers for things in the backpack were much smaller. The zipper openings are only 6 inches wide, making it difficult to use all of the space in the bag. My old bag, model 044MD-Black, had 7.25", 8.5" and 5" openings, so there's no way I can move everything from the old bag to the new one, even though both are supposedly the same size .This bag is #044KD-BK, the model isn't exactly the same so I went by the sizing description, the only other size I found is the Everest 4XLD-BK which is an oversize 16.5 x 6.5" x 4" and much larger than my old one. This is a good example of how difficult it is to buy things based on incomplete or misleading descriptions. I am giving this bag 2 stars because the short zippers make it difficult make use of all available space If you want a smaller bag this might work for you.
