It's really nice to have. I plugged it into a Dell Optiplex Windows XP project computer. I can quickly remove the SSD and make a full backup on my main computer and just put it back in when I'm done. I can use this to quickly swap out different drives to test different operating systems. It works pretty well, but one day when the drive was swapped out too quickly, it got stuck in the dock. I had to pull it out by pressing the eject button. That night it happened 2 or 3 more times but it all seemed to go away on its own. Now I'm more careful about inserting the disc and it hasn't happened again. This pinch case is the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5. The locking mechanism works well but for my purposes I could do without it. I don't really see the need for this, even if you're using it in a laptop. And if you lock it and lose your keys, good luck twisting that little part to get the drive out. You should have just done this so you could use a screwdriver instead of a special triangular wrench. This is probably the worst part of the design. Just pay attention to the transparency rating. Why is that? I gave it 2 stars because you can technically see through the vents, but that lowers the rating for no reason.
