My son is almost 18 months old. I know it's a "tablet". However, this toy would suit him better if it had more moving parts than flat touch buttons that "do" nothing. Of course, we never let him play with our smartphones, so he's unfamiliar with touchscreens; and he's much more interested in the mechanics of his stuff than the learning aspect - he rolls his wheelchair back and forth whenever the opportunity arises - BUT he's not at all interested in the touch buttons on this tablet. He spends all his time pressing the "real" keys that actually have movement: the home button at the bottom (he presses it multiple times, which just makes the tablet repeat its opening phrases), the power button / Volume control on the side and the settings control on top. Let's see if he gets interested in touch buttons that are backlit and have lots of settings/responses. The only positive thing for my son is the musical accompaniment. He loves the different music he plays. However, as I said, he's drawn to the slide switch at the very top that changes the setting from music to something else, and he's constantly clipping songs even if he likes them.
