I rescued a senior dog (11 years old) who grew up with a hoarder. So he lived with 20+ dogs and cats his entire life until he was rescued. That meant that he was used to having every dog around him be able to play with him. I noticed when walking him he was sniffing everything and then would jump and pull the leash at every dog he saw. He would try running at them and start trying to play with them even if they were 200 feet away. That made it really hard to walk him in my apartment complex because he would jump and run at every dog even in a harness. I tried a normal harness, then a couple no-pull body harnesses and all to no avail. Now I'm a 200lb 6 foot bodybuilder so I'm not getting yanked around, but he's still causing me to get pulled because he's using SO much force. It was driving me absolutely nuts and made walks and going potty horrible. I felt bad for the other dog owners because my dog apparently was a maniac. Enter this head halter.Now, at first he hated it. Absolutely hated it. Refused to potty with it on, kept trying to take it off. He would just fall over in the grass and refuse to get up because he had it on his head. Talk about a drama queen. It took a few days of training him with rewards and what not for him to get used to it though so you have to be patient and make sure that they get used to the feeling of it. The package does a great job because it comes with a manual on how to train your dog to get used to it and it really does work. Follow the little booklet and be patient!Walks are a breeze now. He can't go off on his own and pull me with him to sniff every blade of grass. He can't jump at other dogs. He's now accepted his fate and has become much better behaved because of how restrictive the head halter is on him and how much control I now have. It's 100% worth it and is the best investment I've made in my dog in a long time. Absolute life changer.
