Review on πŸ”‘ DIY Programming: 1998-2000 Ford Explorer Un-Cut Transponder Ignition Key by Sabryna Wickings

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Saved us $30-$50: Anti-theft

This key saved us $50 compared to buying a key with a PepBoys RFID chip. The PepBoys key costs $65. Since I lost the second key, you cannot program it yourself. I called several local auto mechanics and they quoted me over $100. I called our local Ford dealership and they cut the key for free and programmed it locally for $57. Who would have thought that a Ford dealership was the best deal. Works perfectly.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
