If you don't have an Alienware 17R4, this might be for you. It looks like it will last, but I wasn't happy with the fit of my 17R4 - it fit, but I had to force it, and it didn't fit in my bag at all (neither did mine). Lenovo 17" non-gaming laptop, which was a surprise). The Lenovo 17" didn't need to be forced, but it didn't fit in the bag either - leading me to think maybe the bag isn't for a Laptop - which leads me to think the design doesn't include any side support for the laptop other than the zipper which is tighter than I would like on the Alienware. In fact, when I was zipping up, I felt like I was putting too much stress on the zip and the surrounding area. Loaded with almost all of my gear, it was quite comfortable to carry as a backpack. I tried to run about 500 meters or so but it was pretty nice (and this was in Arizona in 90 degree heat). In terms of loading, there is a large center compartment that is NOT accessible unless the laptop compartment is zipped open. This is probably to increase the security of the thing - you can lock the zips on the front and back, making it impossible to access most of the content without a key (or breaking something). I found it didn't quite fit the way I wanted to use it, but others might like it (someone reviewed another backpack and complained that it did NOT have this feature, so this is definitely personal preference). What I consider an external camera case (not lockable) fits my Nexus 5 nicely in a protective case. Or it stores a bunch of credit cards (perhaps a small wallet). But it's not locked. There is a compartment on the other side of the backpack that I could not understand. The phone didn't hold up (small). Note that this is made by Kensington, who make the locking cables - and the locking device can work with either a 'regular' padlock or any Kensington security lock - which means you attach it to a table leg or whatever be able. (Actually, I think you could use BOTH a padlock AND another padlock - which means you can lock it to a stationary object, unlock it from that object, but still lock a backpack. Good travel move, IMHO *IF* it would match my alienware better i would keep it but return it and get the alienware 18 backpack (hope i like THIS!)
