This is a great scanner for home and travel travel. It's also battery operated and travels well. It is lightweight and takes up little space. I'm a genealogist and if we have a family reunion it's great to bring family photos and have them scanned on site if those older family members don't want to part with the original photos! The scanner scans them directly onto the included SAN disk and simply downloads them to your computer. I don't go anywhere without it. It seems light, but it is able to withstand the toughness and anyone can use it right out of the box without any problem. Children can also help and participate.
