    Poor resolution, yellow cast on old negatives

    Scanned several films, compared images to scans made from a printed photograph using a Canon flatbed scanner - Poor resolution when enlarged, looks pixelated. Look at two examples of a cat's eye - enlarged examples. Better scanned photo. - There is a yellow tint/noise that renders the images unusable (update: this may be an issue with the negatives, not the device). - Update 23 November 2020: Scanning a new roll of developed film just to ensure previous releases were not the result of poor…

    Keeping Old Memories

    We bought this to keep old 35mm film on our computer. Nobody in our area burns movies to CD and this was a project that had to be realised. Assessing the unit's performance is difficult as some of the negatives date from 1986 and are deteriorating from unclimatic storage. Setup is easy to use: insert an SD card, I used an old 32GB card, and start scanning. We burned 700 negatives to disc in a few hours a day.     Manage your expectations

    This device is easy to use and takes pictures from negatives very quickly. Images can be easily transferred to a PC or laptop. Image quality is satisfactory. I was expecting better image quality, but like its similarly priced competitors, this machine doesn't really scan negatives. Rather, it uses a CMOS sensor to take a digital photo of it, and the image can look like a medium-quality digital photo.     Good on light slides, not so good on dark slides

    I like this little scanner for the price but it just doesn't do well with darker images. I'm trying to digitize some old family slides from the 60's and this did a really good job until I stumbled upon some obscure ones. They are displayed on the device's LCD screen, but the JPG image is just a purple-orange jumble of pixels. There are some settings you can change on the scanner itself and by playing around with these settings I was able to successfully scan some of the darker slides but it's…

    Overall a good device for the price, easy to use and with very high digital resolution. Unfortunately, my scanner had a problem with the background light: it is greenish on the left and reddish on the right. In this regard, it was impossible to find the right color balance for the entire image.     Overall a good machine for the price, easy to use and very high digital resolution. Unfortunately, my scanner had a problem with the backlight, which appeared greenish on the left and reddish on the right.
