FIX: After using this device for a year, there is one glaring problem that negates the device's strengths - it leaves a bright halo in the corners of the image. Does an excellent job of scanning negatives in a relatively short amount of time. However, you must be careful when moving to the next slide, as you often end up with a white line that the negative does not align properly with. Also make sure you go through the settings on it and correct the default date. I didn't and was very confused as soon as I loaded it into iPhoto and couldn't find any scans for the rest of my life.

I've tried other ways of transferring my old family slides, including one that promised to transfer them straight to my iPhone, but they were marginal at best. For the price, this device performs very well, capturing images with enough pixels to enlarge slide images and print them out without too much distortion or graininess. This is actually my second one, the first one broke and it's an easy to use device - no. I was able to load some 35mm negatives but didn't like the result. I will try again. The instructions aren't very good, they seem to relate well to individual functions but don't lead from one to another very well.
