I have had 3 Galaxy phones and they all had an Otterbox case. I loved the first one on my S3, it was built like a tank and when I replaced the phone 4 years later it looked brand new. The case on my S7 was also very good, but not as strong and assertive as the S3. Again, it protected well and after 2 years the phone looked like new. This S9+ case is a disappointment. As other reviews have noted, it doesn't have a built-in screen protector (according to Otterbox because of the curved screen). This leaves you vulnerable to scratches etc. unless you buy an extra protection for over $$ (and make sure it's compatible with the case or it won't stay). They need to find a way to bring this feature back. My biggest complaint is that the screen doesn't protect well if you drop it. There are raised edges at the top and bottom. So if you drop it perfectly flat on your face it won't hit the screen directly, but there's nothing on the sides like in previous versions to protect it unless it falls perfectly flat (probably not). be). That's the whole point of Otterbox, and that version doesn't work in my opinion. Each new case has become less secure and this will likely be my last Otterbox unless they make major improvements to make it more similar to previous versions. Can't recommend based on my experience.
