The layer adhesion is not very good, but very nice

This is a beautiful thread that looks much better than many other so-called silk copper threads. Very good process stability and stable, smooth surface of the starting material. I've found that vase mode and most structural elements are weaker compared to regular PLA due to poor layer adhesion. I had to switch to 3 outer shells and experiment with thicker extrusion settings than would otherwise be necessary. The theory is that the greater width of the extrusion (but not the height of the layer) causes the extrusion to be larger and more heated to penetrate the lower layer. seems to help. Right now I'm making 3 perimeters with a 0.60mm extrusion width (0.4mm nozzle) and a smaller fan and getting pretty solid builds. It also speeds up the print noticeably as more plastic is applied faster, especially on the bottom top layer, which can take a long time. However, these settings can cause surface quality to degrade as strength increases. It was a learning experience but I really like the look of this stuff and it got me upping my game for the structural details. JGAurora A5s
