I bought this strap to "test" it on a leather strap (much more expensive) that I use in point and shoot mode have " (DMC LX5). I installed this neoprene on a DMC LX7. I've used it in four seasons, in all weathers and in different countries. I prefer a discreet strap and camera so I bought the black version of the OP/TECH strap. The strap didn't seem to draw any unwanted attention when placed around my wrist and attached to my camera. The quality of the tape is very high. The neoprene is not too thick, but soft and flexible enough that you can easily slide your hand through it, even with a glove. The strap detaches from the camera with a small snap, and I was initially concerned about the possibility of the latch inadvertently detaching, allowing the camera to fall free at an awkward moment. I have not had this experience in the last few months of use. I haven't actually used the disable feature very much, but it's there when you need it. I believe the safest way to use this strap is to put it on your wrist with no camera attached and then once it's on your wrist and adjusted, attach the camera. This can be a bit tricky with one hand. The strap that goes over the camera eyelet is fairly durable and showed no signs of wear or tear after a few months of use. The band is very soft and comfortable on the wrist. I usually hold the camera in my hand, palm back when walking through towns and cities, and the camera isn't very visible to someone approaching me from the front or the side. In this mode, the bracelet can be worn on my wrist for hours. So in warm weather the neoprene can be a bit warmer around the wrist when the strap is pulled halfway (there is an adjustable plastic slider that can keep the strap tight on the wrist to keep it from slipping off). My leather strap is much narrower so it doesn't get as hot and since the leather absorbs sweat I'm more comfortable in these circumstances. I didn't notice any odor from the neoprene even when sweating and when I did it lathers up and washes off easily as the neoprene itself doesn't absorb water. The neoprene is more pliable than my leather strap, although I thought I used the leather strap a lot more times before getting this neoprene, so you might think that with time and use it will soften up compared to when new, but it is still not as soft as a neoprene strap. Each has pros and cons, and minor ones. I would definitely buy another of these straps to use with the soap gun.
