Good camera strap but not great

First of all let me say that I love OP/TECH products. Although the description says 'Compact' I bought it to use in conjunction with my Opteka Professional Digital and Film SLR Strap on a fairly light DSLR. Overall I am satisfied but this strap is not perfect. Here's what I think: BENEFITS - The quick release mechanism is simple but reliable, just like other OP/TECH harness systems. - Neoprene is comfortable. - At the moment the strap seems to be durable after a month of brief use. Let's see…

This "may " is what you want.

My wife wanted a wrist strap. The one she has here for the Panasonic TS-5 is perfect. But the one that came with the camera didn't have a slip setting. It was just a very large loop with a piece attached. So it offered no real security. I chose this one because it was the only one I could find with a sliding "slip" closure that fits snugly around your wrist. I couldn't find anything that compares to the Panasonic that has lasted 6 years perfectly. So, it works - looks like it will last a long…

Not compatible with interchangeable lens cameras

I bought this strap for my Olympus Pen F camera and am definitely not sure if the mini clip and strap are strong enough to safely support their weight (including 12-40 per Lens). I also found the mini clip to be too small and bulky to easily detach from the strap; One basically requires you to take your hand off the strap while holding the camera in the other to break the connection. This serious design flaw prevents the use of a removable strap/tether - at least on the Pen F or similar. IMHO…

Great Strap: Strap for binoculars, cameras and camcorders

Great little strap. It is soft and comfortable and feels very strong. The only improvement I would make is a slightly larger quick release that is easier to release with one hand. To do this you have to put your fingertips on the small pins and press very hard to release them. It's not that difficult with two hands, but since the camera is usually attached to your wrist with a strap, using both hands at the same time can be a little tricky. BUT, these are the same little clips that I already…

Pros
  • Excellent workmanship
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

I liked it so much I bought another one - UPDATED 2018

UPDATE October 27th 2018: I have apparently bought 3 of these belts since 2011. I've since lost track of one - it might have been on the camera I was selling, so I recently ordered another one, the dotted version this time. I no longer have the cameras mentioned in my 2011 review and 2012 update. Now one of the straps - black - on the Panasonic FZ1000 and a new one with polka dots - on the Sony RX100 III. I post pictures of it. Those are strong straps. I wouldn't intentionally hang the cameras…

Good strap for all day use but neoprene has some flaws

I bought this strap to "test" it on a leather strap (much more expensive) that I use in point and shoot mode have " (DMC LX5). I installed this neoprene on a DMC LX7. I've used it in four seasons, in all weathers and in different countries. I prefer a discreet strap and camera so I bought the black version of the OP/TECH strap. The strap didn't seem to draw any unwanted attention when placed around my wrist and attached to my camera. The quality of the tape is very high. The neoprene is not too
