My GSP has epileptic seizures and I originally gave him purine, a lamb and rice. He drank gallons of water and it bothered him. It turned out that the salt content in this brand was very high. Did a little research and found that Wellness lamb and barley products are very low in salt. My dog is currently on phenobarbital and is eating this dog food and drinking less water than ever with any other dog food. I'm very very glad I made the switch as he loves this food.
