I really only needed the lid but I'm glad I bought it as a whole and not a lid with a metal clip to attach it. When I removed the old caps the plastic base just broke so I replaced them entirely. Make sure you have some sealant on hand for this job to keep water out after replacement. It is quick and easy to replace, simply remove the bolts, remove the old sealant, apply new sealant to the ring and screw back on. Everything is better now, and it only costs $10 and about 30 minutes to do both vents.
