As others have said, this is not a 12 AWG. Although the description says "12 AWG", the label on the reel says "12 Gauge". Obviously they are not the same since the wire is somewhere in the 16-14 AWG range. That said, it still seems like a good deal if you don't need 12 AWG wire. I had a similar experience with another online purchase of 16 gauge cable a while back. I received an unmarked spool of 18 AWG wire. When he contacted the seller, he brought a replacement spool marked "16 gauge" in 20 AWG. I sent the seller a photo comparing two samples with real 16AWG and 20AWG wire. To their credit, they refunded the purchase and no longer stocked this product. This seems to be an increasing problem as there are more customer complaints here at Revain about mislabelling/misleading wire sizes. My best advice is to read what other customers have to say before you buy.
