I use this Astro 430 wearable and a smaller GPS collar to track my dog while hiking. This product is ridiculously expensive, but I needed Garmin's reputation for reliability, accuracy, and return/repairability. Surprisingly, there are two ways to see my dog's location (topographic map and compass with footage). Minor issues: Garmin didn't perfect the device to fit the collar so they send those harsh (hair pulling) electrical zip ties/cables that don't work - I used a good quality cable instead. Also, nowhere in the description was it mentioned that the handheld runs on AA batteries and that you have to order (only) Garmin branded batteries. Also, it was difficult to agree on how to use the product on the Garmin website, but this is the only website that provides detailed information. There are many YouTubers but they are very limited when it comes to some usage details. Garmin includes very limited instructions. UPDATE: After 6 months of use - it still works well and the collar has been submerged in water several times (briefly) and appears to have survived. Once I had to contact support to reset it and they helped me.
