My German Shepherd (rescue as they all should be) goes hiking several times a week. She walks off the leash and always stays close to me because she is a big mother child, but sometimes she sees deer or squirrels and needs to chase them. With its black and brown color, it easily disappears in the forest and winter foliage. I only ever put bells on her so I could hear her everywhere but seeing this vest when I was looking for LED collars I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! I attached some bells to it (from those doorknobs you get for dogs), used some gorilla fabric glue to secure them in place and now I have a vest that I can see my girl in anywhere and everywhere can hear where it wasn't. goes. I've only used LED lights a few times, and not for very long, but they are VERY bright. She has never swum in this vest (when I take her swimming she wears a life vest because it's bright orange), but she's walked through so much mud and creeks. He was fine when splashed with mud and water, but was not submerged in water. No problem with battery power. This is visible from afar. There are fields we travel on and she can run very far across and I can still see her. She weighs 55 pounds and, being a German shepherd, has a thin waist but a massive chest. The straps also have elastic so your dog won't get tangled and allows them to walk and move freely. She doesn't even seem to notice she's wearing them. Definitely get it, especially if you let your dog run off-leash. Or for one night! The reflective strips are very bright when exposed to light, sunlight or headlights.
