I like it when I can put papers in the tray and walk away and the papers get torn to shreds. It is good when you clean files and get rid of junk. The automatic 100-sheet tray only handles plain paper well. You cannot put cardboard or smooth paper in the auto bin. Unusually (in my opinion), the papers in the auto tray are drawn into the shredder mechanism in the center, which essentially folds them in half for shredding. I thought the papers would be fed from one end, which seems more logical to me. But it works pretty well. I like the automatic jam recovery feature; The device will automatically reverse and then keep alternating between reverse and forward until the papers are gone - most of the time. Sometimes he just stops because he keeps trying and not succeeding. I wish the bin was a little bigger. Since I'm trying to get rid of the clutter and shred a lot, I might use a larger container. All in all, for the price and what it does, it's a pretty good choice. I still have a paper shredder with a large hopper, but everything has to be fed manually. I use them as needed for each job. UPDATED: I downgraded the star rating because the shredder jammed multiple times today. I like that it tries to clear the jam itself, but it doesn't always work. Therefore, you need to remove the stack of paper and let the machine do its job. If it doesn't clear the jam on its own, you'll need to pull out the small shredded pieces between the two sets of rollers. I probably spent 10 minutes or more cleaning it up; If it doesn't clear the jam, it doesn't work. When I put the stack of papers back, the car wouldn't even start. (Yes, it was plugged in and turned on, and the jam was cleared by then.) After I continued to operate the machine by pressing the forward and back buttons, it automatically began shredding the stack. I use regular old carbon paper from the nearest stationery store, nothing fancy or thick, but this machine cannot successfully feed six sheets of this paper through the manual feed slot as advertised. However, it's great for those little bits of paper that you want to shred quickly. I'm not sure if pulling the paper into the machine by grabbing it in the middle and trying to pull it through the shredder is the right way to go. I'm just trying to be efficient, and having to constantly remove paper and manually clear jams doesn't save me time. MORE UPDATED REVIEW (12/14/2016 :) Machine is dead now. It just makes moaning noises. Nothing is moving. Dissatisfied.
