Good lamps, installation problems

Once installed, they become beautiful under counter lights. I like the two brightness options and the 3 color options. Build quality is pretty good. However, there are some installation issues. 5 star lamp and 3 star installation/parts - 4 star average. The main problem is the included cable connector. In traditional installation with the screw heads down to allow them to be tightened, the ends of the screws will rest against the bottom of the housing before the cable is securely clamped (Romex). In fact, the screws are too long. Also, the plug is too thick for the lamp to fit snugly in the bottom of the cabinet no matter how you orient it. This took a long time to manipulate when it was first installed. I found it hard to believe that they provided a clamp that didn't match the thickness of the light, but they did. For the second lamp, I used the lower profile cable connector I had on hand. I wish I could do this for both lights, but I didn't feel like repeating the first one. This is normal as I don't think anyone will really notice, although the bottom clip I used is less noticeable when someone is watching from a low position. Second, if your electrician didn't leave a wire loose, you most likely won't be able to connect the lamp without removing the wire compartment cover. However, if you remove that cover, it's not that bad. For the second install, I routed the wires, tightened the clamp, secured the lamp to the bottom of the cabinet, and then made the final wire connection in the wire groove. It worked very well. However, you could have used a center screw on this plate as it sometimes sticks out a bit in the center front. My installation was hampered by the 12 gauge wiring my electrician used in the circuits. 14 gauge wire would be a lot easier to work with, but that's not the lamp's fault. This thick wire could also be the cause of my very slight bulge in the wire groove cover.
