There is no additional rigidity added to the saw as a result of its attachment to the sole. It is required to use a caliper to check the parallelism of the disk to the sole and, if necessary, "bend" the rear hinge in order to achieve accurate cutting (precision greater than or equal to +/-1 mm). I'm not sure, maybe I'm being very critical, and perhaps this saw is not intended for use in jewelry work, but I work in the furniture industry, and I require a high level of accuracy. In most cases, getting into the +/-1mm range is not all that difficult, and with a little practice, you can cut into the +/-0.5mm range.
